Monterey Council on Aging
Minutes August 24, 2016
The meeting opened at 10 am. Present – N. Champigny, R. Champigny, L. Hebert, K. Purcell and J. Rodriguez. The reading of the minutes of August 10th was postponed.
Plans for the October 10, 2016 Health Fair were discussed. Refreshments will be coffee, doughnut holes, apples and bottled water. J. R. will check with Mark Makuc on the availability of the bathroom and kitchen at the firehouse. We have received positive response from Community Health Program with the van, Veterans Affairs with their van, Elder Services, Joseph Roy and Hospice. We are awaiting confirmation on hearing tests, possible vision screening and Shine for Medicare counseling. Notices will be placed in the Monterey News, the Berkshire Eagle and the Shoppers’ Guide.
New Business – The repair of a senior’s railing needs to be checked. We’ll meet on August 29th to work on phone numbers.
The next meeting will be on Monday, September 12th at 10 am in town hall.
